A life in music.

Steven Bowman is a string arranger/performer and performing artist based out of Nashville. Having grown up in Memphis, Bowman was surrounded by an eclectic mix of genres and artists ranging from bluegrass to soul to classical. This has led to his career as a violinist being a kaleidoscope of styles and collaborative artists. Ever since a young age, Bowman has desired to use music as a tool to bring people together and to bring a bit of peace and beauty to the world.

Bowman has recorded and collaborated with numerous artists in Tennessee and Arizona, including folk/country artists such as Shari Rowe, Mitch Rossell, Jess Jocoy, and Magnolia Highway — and larger touring acts including For King & Country, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, David Cook, Phil Wickham, and Tanya Tucker. These performances have taken him everywhere from the stages of the Grand Ole Opry House, to sold out performances at the iconic Bluebird Cafe, to acoustic tours in some of Europe’s most historic cities.

He is also an accomplished string arranger, having written and recorded strings for a wide array of artists in various genres and even a film score. His work can most recently be heard on recordings by OneRepublic, Jamie MacDonald, Tenth Avenue North, Tasha Layton, Mike Thomas, and many more.

In addition to his string playing adventures, Bowman also writes and records as a solo artist. During the day he is marketing director for The Violin Shop in Nashville, where he enjoys fostering music community and producing live events in the local scene.
